Care notes
The Flame Pipefish is a strikingly colourful species with a bright orange-red body and a contrasting blue tail. It is a peaceful, shy fish that thrives in quiet reef tanks with plenty of live rock for cover. It feeds on tiny live or frozen foods such as copepods, baby brine shrimp, and other zooplankton. Like other pipefish, it is slow moving and prefers areas with low to moderate flow. Strong currents can stress it, and it may struggle to feed or navigate the tank. It can also be clumsy and prone to bumping into corals and anemones, so it should not be kept with species that have aggressive stings. Best kept in a mature, peaceful reef environment by experienced aquarists.
