Care notes
The Crocodile Pipefish gets its name from its elongated snout and body shape that resembles a miniature crocodile. It is among the largest commonly available pipefish and has a greenish or brown mottled body that helps it blend into seagrass and macroalgae. As with all pipefish, it is slow-moving and easily outcompeted for food, so it should only be kept in peaceful tanks with gentle water flow and an abundance of live microfauna like copepods. Strong currents should be avoided, and it should not be kept with corals or anemones that have strong stings, as it may bump into them. Crocodile Pipefish can be kept singly or in mated pairs.
