The Green Kabuto Rasbora (Microdevario kubotai) is one of the most striking nano fish in the hobby. Their neon?green glow, peaceful nature, and constant mid?water activity make them a perfect choice for planted aquariums and community nano tanks. Small, hardy, and full of personality, they’re ideal for aquarists who want colour without needing a large tank.
Tank Size & Layout
Green Kabuto Rasboras thrive in planted tanks with plenty of open swimming space. They look incredible against dark substrates and lush greenery.
They appreciate:
• Dense plants (stem plants, mosses, floating plants)
• Gentle flow
• Soft, slightly acidic water
• Dim or natural lighting
Water Parameters
They’re adaptable but show their best colour in stable, soft water:
• Temperature: 22–27°C
• pH: 6.0–7.2
• Hardness: Soft to moderate
• Flow: Gentle to moderate
Green Kabuto Rasboras are peaceful and perfect for nano communities. Ideal tankmates include:
• Chili rasboras
• Ember tetras
• Celestial Pearl Danios
• Pygmy corydoras
• Otocinclus
• Shrimp (they’re shrimp?safe with adults)
Avoid large or boisterous fish that may outcompete them.
