Common Name: Molly Miller Blenny
Latin: Scartella cristata
Max Size: 4 inches
Temperature: 72–78°F
pH: 8.1–8.4
Reef Safe: Yes
Care Notes:
This hardy and personable blenny is a great addition to reef tanks, especially when captive bred. Known for its algae-eating habits, it also helps control detritus and can even pick at nuisance pests like Aiptasia in some cases. Molly Millers have quirky, curious personalities and often perch on rocks to watch their surroundings. They are peaceful overall but may show territorial behavior toward similar-looking blennies. Their diet should include algae, spirulina, and occasional meaty foods. Captive bred individuals are especially adaptable and make an excellent choice for beginners and experienced hobbyists alike.
