Care Notes: The Miles Lionfish is a large, striking predator native to the Indo-Pacific and western Indian Ocean. It features bold red, white, and brown stripes and long, flowing fins. This species prefers spacious aquariums with plenty of rockwork for shelter and subdued lighting. It is peaceful with large tankmates but will eat small fish and invertebrates. It feeds on meaty foods such as shrimp, squid, and marine fish. Like all lionfish, it has venomous spines. It can be kept with coral but not with crabs, shrimp, or small fish.
