Care notes
The Blue Pipefish has a long, slender body with an iridescent blue sheen and a black-and-white tail. It is peaceful and best suited to quiet reef tanks with plenty of live rock and caves for hiding. It feeds on small live or frozen foods such as copepods and enriched baby brine shrimp. Like other pipefish, it is slow moving and prefers low to moderate water flow. Strong currents can make it difficult for them to swim or feed. They can also be clumsy and may bump into corals or anemones, so they should not be housed with species that have aggressive stings. They are best kept in pairs or small groups and only in mature aquariums with a well-established pod population.
