The Bubble Tip Anemone is the most popular anemone in the trade for multiple reasons: it is colourful and has a beautiful appearance with rounded tentacles, in comparison with other anemone species is easy to care for and it readily hosts a range of clownfish species. Although it is not advised to introduce this anemone into new tanks, once mature, this is a great species to begin with. It typically is more forgiving in the tank and fills all of the criteria when it comes to what people seek in an anemone. They are photosynthetic and will enjoy being fed the occasional piece of meaty food. These anemones will move around the tank until they find a suitable place to root themselves in the rock where they are happy. Once anchored they can be hard to move. Commonly available species of clowns such as Ocellaris and Clarkii will typically host these anemones. This species also readily splits in the aquarium meaning it is possible to have their numbers increase.
The Red Bubble Tip is neon red in colour which is an uncommon colour for the trade making it a highly sought after specimen for the tank. Many reefers actively create display tanks dedicated to these creatures such as our display tank in shop!
