The Dragon Goby is a peaceful, bottom-dwelling fish native to the Indo-Pacific, including regions such as Indonesia, Java, Bali, and New Guinea . It features a beige or light brown body adorned with small bright blue spots, and some individuals may exhibit yellow coloration around the mouth and body . This species thrives in well-established reef tanks with fine sand substrates and ample live rock for burrowing and shelter. Known for its symbiotic relationship with pistol shrimp of the genus Alpheus, the goby provides vigilance while the shrimp maintains the shared burrow . The Dragon Goby is carnivorous, feeding on a variety of live and frozen foods, including mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other meaty offerings placed on the substrate . It may be territorial around its shelter but remains peaceful with other species, especially if it has its own space .
