Care Notes:
The Spotted Mandarin is a peaceful, bottom-dwelling fish native to the Indo-West Pacific. It features a vibrant green body adorned with psychedelic blue, black, and orange spots. This species thrives in mature reef aquariums with abundant live rock, which supports populations of copepods and amphipods—its primary food sources. While some individuals may adapt to frozen or prepared foods, a consistent supply of live microfauna is essential for long-term health. The Spotted Mandarin prefers tanks with fine sand substrates and plenty of hiding spots. It is generally peaceful but may exhibit territorial behavior towards conspecifics, especially males. Due to its specialized dietary needs, it is best suited for experienced aquarists with well-established tanks.
