Care Notes: The Purple Firefish is a peaceful dartfish native to the Western Indian Ocean. It features an elongated body with a striking blend of white, purple, and magenta tones, and long, flowing dorsal and anal fins. This species thrives in reef aquariums with plenty of rockwork for shelter and open swimming space. It feeds on small meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Known to be shy, it may retreat to its cave when startled and can jump, so a tight-fitting lid is essential. It can be kept in groups if introduced at the same time and provided with enough space and hiding spots.
