The Boesemani Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia boesemani) is one of the most iconic and recognisable rainbowfish species. Males display a dramatic two?tone colour split: an iridescent steel?blue front half and a vivid orange to sunset?yellow back half. Females are slimmer and more subtly coloured but still beautifully reflective.
They are active, peaceful shoaling fish, best kept in groups where their colours intensify and their natural behaviour shines. Their deep?bodied shape and shimmering scales make them a standout centrepiece in medium to large community aquariums.
Temperature: 24–28°C (75–82°F)

Diet & Feeding
Boesemani Rainbows thrive on variety. Offer a mix of high?quality flakes or pellets, plus live or frozen foods such as bloodworm, brine shrimp, and daphnia to keep their colours vibrant.
They are peaceful, fast?moving, and happiest in a lively community. Ideal tank mates include other rainbowfish, barbs, peaceful cichlids, larger tetras, and bottom dwellers like Corydoras.
