Cardinal Tetra - Paracheirodon Axelrodi

The Cardinal Tetra (Paracheirodon axelrodi) is one of the most popular and recognisable tropical fish in the aquarium hobby. Renowned for its vivid electric blue stripe and brilliant red colouration, this peaceful schooling fish brings exceptional colour and movement to any freshwater aquarium.

Native to the slow-moving waters of the Amazon Basin, Cardinal Tetras thrive in well-maintained aquariums with stable water conditions and plenty of plants. As a shoaling species, Cardinal Tetras should be kept in groups of at least six, although larger schools create a more natural and impressive display. Their peaceful temperament makes them excellent tank mates for other small tropical fish, dwarf cichlids, rasboras and peaceful bottom dwellers.
