Snail eating snail /assassin - Anentome helena

The Assassin Snail (Anentome helena) is one of the most popular freshwater snails in the aquarium hobby. Renowned for its striking yellow and dark brown banded shell, this fascinating species is often introduced to aquariums to help control unwanted pest snail populations.

Unlike many commonly kept snails, Assassin Snails do not rapidly overrun aquariums and are generally easy to manage. They spend their time exploring the substrate, décor and glass, making them an interesting addition to community aquariums.

Although best known for feeding on pest snails, Assassin Snails will also consume uneaten food, sinking pellets, frozen foods and other meaty aquarium foods. They are suitable for many tropical freshwater setups and can coexist with peaceful fish and larger invertebrates.
