Yellow Tail Congo Tetra (Alestopetersius caudalis)

The Yellow Tail Congo Tetra (Alestopetersius caudalis) is a beautiful African tetra prized for its shimmering body and distinctive bright yellow tail. Less commonly seen than the traditional Congo Tetra, this species offers aquarists a unique and eye-catching addition to a peaceful community aquarium.

Native to Central African river systems, Yellow Tail Congo Tetras are active schooling fish that thrive when kept in groups. Their elegant swimming behaviour and attractive colouration make them an excellent choice for larger planted aquariums and natural biotope displays.

These peaceful fish are best kept alongside other non-aggressive species and benefit from plenty of swimming space, subdued lighting and areas of planting. When maintained in suitable conditions, their colours become increasingly vibrant and they display excellent shoaling behaviour.
